Nearshore development without the time-zone tax
Applefy is led from Valencia, Spain (CET), with an engineering team distributed across Ukraine (EET, about one hour ahead) — the same continent as Germany, France, the UK, and the Benelux, not a half-a-workday gap to India or Southeast Asia.
Why nearshore from Spain and Ukraine
Nearshoring is supposed to remove the overhead of offshoring — the overnight handoffs, the calls nobody can both attend, the review cycle that costs a full day every time. It only does that if the geography is actually close. Ours is.
Hours that overlap with yours
CET and EET sit inside or at the edge of a Western European working day. There’s no need to schedule around a multi-hour gap the way you would with a team on IST or further east — a question asked in the morning gets answered the same morning.
Leadership inside the EU
Calls, scoping, and contracts run from Valencia, Spain — the same business day as Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, or London, not a handoff to an account manager in a different time zone from the engineers.
One team, start to finish
The engineers who scope your project build, test, and ship it, through our own discovery-design-development-QA-launch-support process — not a sales team in one country handing off to a delivery team in another.
A founder you can actually reach
Scoping calls go straight to Applefy’s CEO, not a layered account-management structure between you and the people building your product.
What we deliver
Web, Mobile & Backend Delivery
Web, iOS, Android, and backend engineering on Western European working hours — the same services, delivered from a Spain-and-Ukraine team instead of a single local office.
Full-Cycle Product Delivery
Discovery, design, development, QA, launch, and ongoing support, run as one engagement instead of separate vendors for each stage.
Fractional Technical Leadership
CTO-level architecture, hiring, and roadmap guidance without a full-time executive hire — covered in detail on our Fractional CTO page.
GDPR-Aware Engineering
Data handling built with GDPR obligations in mind from the first commit, with a standalone Compliance Review available if you need the gap analysis formally documented.
Already delivering for Western Europe
Common questions about nearshore development with Applefy
The time-zone math is the real argument: CET is UTC+1 and EET is UTC+2, both close to Western European business hours. A team on IST (UTC+5:30) or further east overlaps your working day for only a few hours, if at all — most offshore collaboration ends up happening async, one day at a time. With Spain and Ukraine, a morning question gets a same-morning answer.
Applefy LLC, incorporated in Delaware, USA — the standard setup for a founder-led agency serving international clients, and not an EU-registered legal entity. What is in the EU is where the business runs day to day: leadership, client relationships, and scoping calls are based in Valencia, Spain.
We don’t sidestep this. Our engineering team is distributed across Ukraine rather than concentrated in one office, and it has kept shipping throughout: we’ve kept BitCoinPay Trade’s iOS client stable and shipping release after release, on an app where a bad build costs real money, and Kiolfast launched new in February 2026. If continuity planning matters for your specific engagement, it’s a fair thing to raise during scoping.
The same three tiers as any Applefy project, whether it’s a fixed-scope build or an embedded team: $20K-$40K for a simple project (3-6 weeks), $40K-$100K for a mid-complexity project (2-4 months), and $100K-$250K+ for a complex project (4-8 months). An ongoing team-augmentation engagement is scoped and quoted on the same basis as the work it covers.
Mainly geography and overlap hours, not a claim that the work itself is different: CET/EET sit 4-6 hours closer to a Western European working day than IST or further east, and Spain is a short flight from most Western European capitals if an in-person meeting is ever worth having. The engineering process — discovery through launch and support — is the same either way.
It’s established, not new. Beetroot, a Swedish company founded in 2012, has run the same structure — business led from Sweden, engineering teams built in Ukraine — at a much larger scale, now around 600 people across Sweden, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Poland. We’re not affiliated with Beetroot; we’re pointing to it because the geography logic behind this page isn’t something we made up for a landing page.
